Approximately 75% of individuals in the United States who suffer from autoimmune conditions are women, as reported by the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association.
The philosophy behind the Your Daily® brand is centered on the idea that adopting small daily habits can result in meaningful transformations. Women who face autoimmune challenges often have limited opportunities for self-care and there is no one-size-fits-all solution. However, the Your Daily® offers an assortment of evidence-based resources that can be tailored to individual needs and provide effective support.
Our team has been collaborating closely with the business owner and the developer to provide all resources within the web application as well as making app more user-centered. Our efforts have been concentrated on conducting research, redesigning the web app for mobile devices, identifying and integrating new features, and conducting usability tests.

The initial version of the Your Daily® web app encountered several challenges.
Firstly, it lacked a structured hierarchy, resulting in difficulty for users to navigate and locate the essential tools they required. Vital features were concealed behind the hamburger menu, leading to confusion.
Secondly, the app's appearance didn't appear personalized and customized to the individual's needs. Lastly, the user interface was unappealing, possibly demotivating users from engaging with the app.

During the research we compared 11 mobile apps focused on health and wellness. Each of the wellness apps analyzed has a distinctive value proposition and a range of features that cater to different user needs. We found that some features like mood trackers, community, journaling, live courses and meditations were consistent amongst a majority of our competitors' products. These insights obtained from the competitor analysis were utilized to guide the redesign of the Your Daily app.

Ideate
After completing our research and identifying the most important features, we had a solid foundation to begin the design process. We started with sketching and I focused on each feature, striving to include as many details as possible during the ideation phase.
After the sketching phase, we progressed to creating Lo-Fi Wireframes. We incorporated feedback from the client, which resulted in several rounds of changes. From there, we began building a design system for the product's future development.

Finally, our research findings and ideation were incorporated into the High Fidelity Wireframes, bringing the design to life. we created various designs for each individual user to showcase how the app can be tailored and personalized based on their preferences and needs. This approach made the user experience more unique and engaging, ultimately enhancing the overall usability of the app.

To assess the efficacy of the app's new design, we carried out three rounds of usability testing for each task. During these sessions, we closely observed how users interacted with the app and solicited feedback to uncover any lingering issues. Subsequently, we incorporated the insights gleaned from the testing to refine the app's usability and overall quality.
